Almond is a school where parent involvement makes a real difference — not just in the classroom, but in the programs, events, and community that define the experience here.

  • Our volunteers are families at every stage and schedule — new to the school and veterans, working and not. What they share is a belief that showing up matters.

  • The easiest entry point is a single shift — Field Day, an art docent lesson, Walk-a-thon. No experience needed, no ongoing commitment. Check ClassroomParent for upcoming shifts, or email info@almondpta.org for a recommendation.

  • Every event and program at Almond exists because someone stepped up to run it — and continues because someone steps up again the next year. If you're ready, look through the role list below or reach out to info@almondpta.org.

Want to think even bigger?

If you want to contribute beyond Almond specifically, there are meaningful roles at the district and community level.

MVLA PTA Council — the council oversees PTAs across LASD, MVLA High School District, and Mountain View Whisman.

LASD school board — elected positions that set policy and direction for the entire Los Altos School District. Board meetings are public and open to community input even if you're not on the board.

Based on your answers, here are some roles that might be a good fit. You might find yourself drawn to more than one — and if a role sounds interesting but feels like a stretch, the "also consider" suggestions are good ways to get started. The best volunteer experiences we've seen are shared ones. If a role sounds interesting, consider who you might do it with — or reach out to PTA for help identifying someone.
