Ready, set, READ! Read-a-thon is a three-week celebration of reading that combines a love of books with fundraising for our school.
How It Works: Students read as much as they can over three weeks, and every minute counts! Whether it's chapter books, picture books, audiobooks, or even reading aloud to younger siblings—it all adds up. Parents log reading minutes at home, and teachers track classroom reading time too.
Prizes & Recognition: We celebrate our readers! Students can pick up stickers in the library to celebrate reading milestones. Individual students and classes with the most minutes read earn prizes and recognition. It's a fun way to motivate kids to dive into great stories while building strong reading habits.
Support Our School: As students log their progress, families can share updates and invite relatives and friends to support their reader with donations to the PTA. Every donation helps fund programs and resources that benefit all Almond students throughout the year. Students are also able to spend a portion of donations in the read-a-thon store!
Get ready to read, log your minutes, and help make this our best Read-a-thon yet!
